Carmagnola & Alba: Sport in Piazza
The holidays are over and Kendo is started with a couple of demonstrations: the first in Carmarthenshire and the second at Alba.
demonstration of Martial Arts in Carmarthen participated for Kendo, a dozen adults and seven or eight children. In addition to the demonstration of Kendo there 'was also to Jodo.
Unfortunately I could not take pictures of Carmarthen, and thanks the participation of my wife, we managed to do some 'photos of the demonstration of Alba.
The demonstration took place in Alba "Sport in Piazza", a sports event where the most diverse disciplines play in the streets and anyone who wants to try a workout can do it. Clearly the focus of the event are the children. We had Sasha as the main figures, the son of Walter, and Lawrence, my son. The two small kendoka were essential to the success of the event.
We made two small demonstrations in the morning at a 11 and an afternoon at 16.30. The demonstration was essentially a small workout of thirty minutes, with heating, basic techniques and a small fight with Walter. The proof of the morning was preceded by a demonstration of Tameshigiri made by Michael, while in the afternoon, kendo was preceded by a brief demonstration of Iaido, and Tameshigiri.
After each demonstration, we had a small group of brave children who have tried to do a bit of kendo. As you will see from the series of photographs that follow, there was some movement.
